If you have +1 kids in your entourage, then most likely, you have a need for labels. I buy them every year for my kiddos- and I have 4 of them (kiddos that is). We label everything from folders, socks, water bottles, backpacks, even underwear. I still don’t understand how my twins manage to come home from school every day with different clothes on from the school bin. But, hey, they have pretty much defined “surprise” for me from the beginning.

All 4 precious ones head off to summer camp for at least 4 weeks throughout the summer. This means I need a plethora of labels, and not just any label. I need a full on waterproof, durable, no one or no thing can pull this puppy off of my kids’ stuff kind of labels. The universe must have heard me because I was recently offered to try the Kidecal Labels, claiming to be the most durable waterproof labels on the market. My twins have managed to destroy everything claiming to be indestructible, so I am willing to put the Kidecal Labels to the test.

The Kidecal Lables can be personalized, and they are pretty stylin, so I’m going to give it a try.

I would even put these fun little guys on my own stuff. Let’s try it out together, then tell me what you think. Kidecals is giving Stella+Oliver readers 15% off Kidecals the most durable waterproof labels on the market use promo code: bestlabels at http://kidecals.com/.

This is a sponsored post for Kidecals. I have not reviewed the product yet, but have been given the opportunity to try them out.

Before you spend money on your next movie theater experience, check out the new Galaxy Green Valley Luxury+ Theatres. Located at 4500 East Sunset Road in Henderson (formerly the AMC Theater if you are familiar with the area), is a brand new way to go to the movies.

Top 5 Reasons to Pick Galaxy Green Valley Luxury+ Theatres

  • Comfy leather seats that fully recline, including the foot rest. In fact, they recline so much, it’s just like sitting in your favorite chair at home.
  • Cup holders and trays. No more lap-popcorn or spilled candy or sodas.
  • Sodas? Why not, have a glass of wine or a premium beer. When I say premium, I mean the good stuff, like Stella Artois and Corona.*
  • Crisp, clear HD film, Dolby surround sound, and over-sized screens so you don’t miss a thing.
  • Pre-selected seats. You have to make a reservation and choose your seats in order to see the movie. This is great for timing and the “where are we going to sit” dilemma.

A few weeks ago, I was invited to visit the Galaxy Green Valley Luxury+ Theatres. I brought my 9 year old son to see the movie, “42”. It was a great Mother/Son date. We grabbed our popcorn, candy and drinks, reclined our hand selected seats, and enjoyed the show. It was a 7pm show, and my son was in his comfort zone- he actually fell asleep towards the end.

I was so impressed with the theater, I’m not sure I will go to another one again! I also know that if I want my husband to accompany me (he hates going to the movies) that this is the only theater for him.

5 Things You Should Know about Galaxy Luxury Theater

  • Their motto: Luxury amenities at an affordable price. Tickets are $12 flat all day, all day, for every movie. No matinee prices here, but the $12 is worth the visit.
  • If you are into movie theater hot dogs, Galaxy Luxury Theater offers premium dogs for around $6. You can design them yourself or pick from the menu.
  • I’m actually not sure I would bring my littles to this theater. They wouldn’t appreciate the experience. My older kids (9 & 7) love it, and it’s great for family night.
  • Gift Cards system is not fully up and running yet, but will be soon. Love the idea to give the gift for teachers, “You’re the best teacher in the Galaxy!”.
  • Check on-line periodically for which films show at Galaxy Luxury Theater. Due to the limited number of screens, they do not get every movie. However, it seems as though most of the block busters come through there at some point.
  • For more information, or to book your reservation for your next movie theater experience, visit Galaxy Green Valley Luxury+ Theatres on Facebook and Twitter.

Tips for Day Out with Thomas

This past weekend my mom and I took my daughter (7), twins (2), and nephew (5) to ride Thomas the Train and enjoy the fun day organized at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City. It was a great time, and all ages really enjoyed it. Having never been before, I wanted to share a few tips with you on how to best enjoy your day. There is one more weekend left for the Day Out with Thomas: The Go-Go Thomas Tour 2013.

RSMLV Tips:

  • Buy your tickets in advance. Try on-line first because the time slots do sell out.
  • Get there at least 45-minutes to an hour early. The website suggests an hour before train departure time. You need to give yourself enough time to park, pick up or buy tickets, gather the troops and line up for the train ride.
  • Parking is a bit of a challenge. There is a handicapped lot available right near the entrance. Everyone else will need to park down the street, and up a rather large hill. A shuttle is provided for transportation, so plan accordingly.
  • Boulder City is a small town with a main highway that drives right through the middle, so expect some traffic, especially on the weekend. There are not many places to make U-turns, so be on the look out for Yucca Street. There is not a light there, but it is the main street before reaching the A&W.
  • If you want to sit in an outdoor train car, be sure to line up as early as possible.
  • Make sure to plan time to enjoy all the exhibits, activities and the Imagination Station provided.

The kids had a great time. They were definitely the perfect age for this event, though a bit testy during the actual train ride. We tried to grab a seat on one of the outdoor cars, but they filled up quickly. Instead, we ended up inside one of the restored train cars, with two bench seats facing each other. This actually worked out better for us in hindsight.

Bring some snacks or something to keep the little ones busy while you wait on the train for the ride to start. During the train ride, a conductor will come by to bring the kids a packet to gain their Jr. Engineer certificate. Take the papers around to get stamped at each “station” and the kids will get a Thomas the Train souvenir.

My daughter, 7, was a tad too old to really enjoy much. She did have fun on the obstacle course, and she participated in the Imagination Station doing arts and crafts. Mostly, she was a great help with the little guys who wanted to be everywhere at the same time!

Day Out With Thomas Nevada State Railroad Museum Boulder City

My biggest complaint was the visit with Sir Topham Hatt. My twins waited anxiously in line for their turn, and as luck would have it, when they were next, Sir Topham had to take a 15-minute break. As an adult, I completely understand and empathize with Sir Topham wanting his 15-minute break, however, try explaining that to 2 two-year olds who couldn’t wait to meet him. I didn’t have 15-minutes to wait for him to come back, and my boys had a total meltdown that only a Popsicle from the ice cream truck could cure. As a suggestion, if the person moderating Sir Topham’s breaks would just announce it like 5-7 minutes prior to his actual break time, or cut off the line at a certain point, that would give parents or care takers the opportunity to plan so time is not wasted and melt downs do not occur. Just something to be aware of if a photo with Sir Topham Hatt is high on your priority list.

Other than that, the trip was successful and the Day Out with Thomas was a fun memory for all of us! It is worth the trip for some family fun this weekend.
