For the last nine months, I have been working diligently with my friend and colleague over at The Trend Tribe, putting together a social media influencers weekend that promises to be an amazing time! It has taken me a few years blogging, building my networks and relationships, dabbling in social media and exploring many options to determine what it is about this Wild West of Social Media that intrigues and challenges me. I was presented with an opportunity to use my talents and dig deep inside for the confidence it takes to make things happen, and I have to say, I did it!

Over the next 36-hours, some of the most amazing women bloggers and social media influencers will be coming from Singapore, San Diego, San Fransisco and Orange County to partake in the inaugural Trend Tribe Influencers weekend. Here are some of the deets:

  • Hotel Accommodations at Aria Las Vegas
  • Progressive Sips + Nibbles party at five of the most desired restaurants on the Las Vegas Strip
  • Shopping + Make-Up Dates at two of the most coveted names in Las Vegas
  • Swag Bags full of the most impressive and trend setting products valued at over $800 per bag
  • A Girl’s Night Out that will be talked about for years!
  • Rehab at the Spa to wrap things up

This is an exclusive, invite only event extended to those in The Trend Tribe, and meet the stringent expectations of blog niche, demographic and audience. If you can’t tell already, I am really excited and would love to have you follow me on Twitter and Instagram…just use #TTTVegas to discover who are all the brands and businesses joining us this year.

Getting primped and prime for such an event calls for a little bit of relaxing, and that’s exactly what I booked for myself this week. I was invited by the J.W. Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa to visit their Aquae Sulis Spa and indulge in two of their seasonal treatments: the Pretty in Pink Facial and the Orange Spice Pumpkin and Polish. It was the perfect way to settle my mind and focus on what I needed to get done. The Aquae Sulis Spa has been one of my favorite off the Strip places to take visitors, or just enjoy as a local since it opened several years ago. With a 30% daily discount for locals on any spa treatment, any day of the week, why wouldn’t it be on your favorites list?

The Pretty in Pink facial is a customized facial tailored by your aesthetician to meet the needs of your skin. Mine was craving a bit of a peel and some hydration, so the aesthetician added the mask from the Porefection Pumpkin Facial to mine. Loved it! Pumpkin is a natural enzyme and antioxidant that eats up all the free radicals sitting on top of your skin, and also acts a catalyst to allow better absorption of moisturizers. The warm, tingly sensation told me right away that it was working, and it smelled delicious, most likely due to it being an all natural and organic product from the Hylunia skin care line. My face felt wonderful and my make-up applied evenly and smoothly that night. Even better, 10% of the proceeds from your Pretty in Pink Facial benefits the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Foundation during the month of October.

My spa day did not end there. Shortly after lounging around the outdoor, co-ed Hydro-circuit pool on an a rare overcast day in Las Vegas, I was whisked away into the salon to experience the Orange Spice Pumpkin and Polish. FarmHouse Fresh products, an eco-friendly and organic based line, were utilized, and it seemed as though I could take a spoon and take a bite of the Honeysuckle Orange Custard Lotion and Bourban Bubbler Scrub. All this followed by another warming pumpkin mask for my feet and an arm and hand massage while I waited for my mask to set…ah, what more could I ask for? A nice deep purple polish by yet, another Earth-loving line, Jessica, for my toes, and I’m on my RockStarMom merry little way to pick up the entourage.

If these treatments sound delectable for Fall, head on over to the J.W. Marriott Las Vegas and Aquae Sulis Spa before the end of October. Trust me, if you love pumpkin, Fall flavors and spice, this little solace in the middle of your busy life is worth it…YOU are worth it!

Now I am off to enjoy the fruits of my labor! Crossing all fingers and pretty pedicured toes that my Trend Tribe Influencers Weekend goes off without a hitch! Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Instagram @RockStarMomLV and #TTTVegas to check out some really amazing products and brands…gift ideas for the holidays!

Macy’s Celebration of Accessories | Fashion

I find the toughest time to transition my style is from Summer to Fall. Especially being in Las Vegas where one day it’s 110 degrees and the next day it is 60, we literally go from shorts and sandals to leggings and UGGs in a matter of 24 hours. During that window of a late summer early fall heat wave, I still like to adhere to the rules of fashion. I caution wearing my summery duds in late September, but always struggle with how hot it is still outside. I fall victim to Fashion Transition in those awkward weeks. I think I have found a solution though…change up your accessories, create texture with fabrics and create a fall look with warmer weather items until it cools down.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I need guidance to accomplish these small things. Lately, I have found the hidden benefits of shopping- like stylists and personal shoppers. Don’t worry, you don’t always have to have the big bucks to utilize these services. In fact, some stores even provide them just to make your experience more uplifting, easy and enjoyable. Better yet, there are opportunities to take advantage of that won’t cost you a thing. Take, for example, the Celebration of Accessories happening at Macy’s. Who doesn’t love Macy’s anyway? I can always find something there, and especially in their shoe department. One of the best in Las Vegas is at the Fashion Show were you can spend hours just grazing the tables of the latest styles with many designers and price points to choose from.

If you are not in the Las Vegas area, never fear! There are some amazing events happening at a Macy’s in these fabulous locations where you can get tips on how to keep your wardrobe current and take that Fashion Transition from drab to fab!

Then, enter to win* a fabulous handbag or pair of boots from Carlos by Carlos Santana or a $250 Macy’s Gift Card! If that’s not enough to make you swoon, with any qualifying purchase, receive a special hand-picked gift from select designers. Sounds pretty awesome to me. Check the listing below to see if you will be near one a Celebration of Accessories event:

Lowery’s Aquatic Swim | Fitness

Meg and Frank Lowery have always impressed me. From the time I met them back in our lululemon athletica days when Frank was the Triathlon Ambassador, I knew they were a power couple in the sports and racing world. A little over 10 years ago, the Lowerys put together one of Southern Nevada’s most famous triathlons, the Silverman, where athletes would come from all over the country and the world to compete in one of the toughest courses in North America. Though I never competed myself, I found the event to be inspiring, not only watching people cross the finish line, but also the prep it took for them to get there. In my experience, Frank and Meg have a passion for sport, fitness and their community. I’ve taken Frank’s spin classes, and rocked the Strength Center Fitness Challenge with Meg. If you are a runner, swimmer or biker you are bound to know the Lowerys personally, or at least through six degrees of separation. Knowing how much of their lives are dedicated to improving triathlons and enriching the lives of others through fitness gives me the confidence to send my kids to the Lowery’s Aquatic Swim program happening this Fall.

{The Lowery Family}

My two older kids have been swimming since they were 18 months old, but it took them until this summer to learn how to swim using strokes. My son can doggie paddle like no other, but it’s about time he became a stronger swimmer. He loves to be outdoors, and wants to fish with his dad and ride on the boats. The compromise for that is that he needs to know how to swim. My daughter is like a little fish, and actually has great endurance. I would like to see her be active in something she loves to do. To enhance their skills, I can’t think of a better program for them then with the Lowerys.

Here are testimonials from parents of previous participants:

“Lowery’s Aquatics Swim program was an excellent program for preparing my two girls for the competitive swim team. They are now in the top level for their age group!”

“Lowery’s Swim program helped my son become a stronger and more confident swimmer”

“My son loved the program! he used it as cross training for his main sport, lacrosse. It really helped with his endurance.”

“We saw a huge difference in my daughter’s swimming ability. She learned all of the strokes and became such a strong swimmer”

“My children loved the coaches. They were hands on and made it such a positive experience”

This intensive aquatic program is designed for kids ages 6-16 to enhance their endurance, build strength and learn a flawless technique two times a week in a six week program. Classes start Monday, October 8th and run through November 14th, Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15pm. For more information on the Lowery’s Aquatic Swim program, contact Katy Mason at 702.524.1106.
